"Forbes" magazine made a top ten with highest paid athletes in the world, in 2011. Surprising is the first place is occupied by American boxer Floyd Mayweather, who is currently behind bars, charged with domestic violence.

Floyd Mayweather won in 2011 over 85 million dollars in revenues and beating in charts the boxer Manny Pacquiao Tagalog (62 million) and the golfer Tiger Woods (59.4 million), according to Forbes magazine.

The fourth place is NBA star, LeBron James, who last year managed to collect fabulous amount of 53 million dollars. The basketball player is followed in the top ten by tennis player Roger Federer (52.7 million) and Kobe Bryant, $ 52 million.

Footballers David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo are also in the top on places 8 and 9, as recorded revenues of $ 46 million for LA Galaxy midfielder, 42.5 respectively for Real Madrid striker.

The only women in the top are tennis player Maria Sharapova, ranked 26, and Na Li, who was ranked 81.

Floyd Mayweather - three months behind bars!

American boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was first among the highest paid athletes in the world, was sentenced in May this year, three months in prison on charges that he beat his girlfriend in 2010, while two of their children were present.
